Weeres Pontoon Buyers Guide
|
|
Quality, and continuous innovation
are what make a Weeres great. Ambrose
Weeres founded Weeres Pontoons in 1952 and is credited with inventing the
modern pontoon as we know it. That
is why our marketing slogan is “the Original Pontoon”. True to our heritage we aggressively
pursue new innovations for our complete line. Solid and well crafted, your Weeres
pontoon is built for safety and long life.
|
|
Pontoon tubes are made of
heavy .080 gauge 5052 aluminum. A
stronger more puncture resistant material then used by other brands. Each tube is internally bulkheaded for
strength that will reduce flexing and twisting of the tube in large waves
and while carrying heavy loads.
Each tube is safety vented and pressure tested, providing three or
more water-proof chambers. The canoe shaped nose with splash guards and
internally welded nosebar in the front of the cone provides added strength and safety should
the craft become involved in an unplanned impact with a dock or other fixed
object.
|
|
Cross members are heavy gauge
"C" shaped oxidation treated cross channels are through-hole
bolted with stainless steel hardware, rather then nailed or screwed as with
some other boats. These heavy gauge
cross channels provide the proper strength to stabilize the tubes to reduce
flex and provide a very strong base onto which the deck and railings are
mounted.
|
|
Railings are an anodized heavy duty aluminum square tube with
electrostatically coated aluminum side paneling, premium marine graphics
and stainless steel fasteners to ensure beauty and long life. Anodized rails prevent unsightly black
stains caused by un-anodized rails as used on some brands. Under railing spacers facilitate water
drainage and cleaning. Wheelchair width gates, with easy to use positive
lock latches, open to the inside for safety and ease of access.

|
Furniture material and seat covers are made of top quality marine grade
vinyl and carry a 5 year warranty.
The vinyl is heavy 33 oz with a special stain resistant coated base
vinyl. Marine vinyl of this type is
designed to resist fading and is
durable in a wide range of uses and environments. The seat bases are
Sure-Life© full height rotationally molded frames that carry a limited
lifetime warranty. They are designed with water channels plus raised inside
compartments for excellent on-board storage. Rotational molded frames are impervious
to rot and deterioration under even the most severe conditions.
|
|
Decks are made of 7 layer 3/4" pressure preservative treated
plywood with no voids. (XL® marine panels with limited lifetime
warranty). UV inhibited 20 oz.
marine designer carpeting with special UV inhibitor to maintain the vibrant colors, carries a
five year warranty, and is durable
in a wide range of climates.

|
All Weeres pontoons are certified by the NMMA (National Marine
Manufacturers Association) and meet or exceed safety and performance
standards established by the NMMA.
|
|
Please read owner's manual and all
labels and safety checklists before operation of your pontoon and motor. To
ensure safe boating, always wear personal flotation devices and never
operate your pontoon while under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
|
|
Always maintain proper load
balance when operating any marine craft. A bow-heavy load can severely
affect performance and could pose a safety hazard.
