Stratos Feature

Formal explanation

What it means to you!

Hand Laid Fiberglass Hull Construction

Superior strength and durability.

There two methods for laying up fiberglass boats, hand laid construction and chopper gun construction.  Hand laid uses a woven fabric similar to normal cloth that is saturated with resin by spray or hand application.  Hand laid boats are recognized as having fewer imperfections, are lighter weight and have superior strength because of the woven fabric that is  overlapped at the keel.  Stratos boats use six layers of cloth that over lap at the keel providing exceptional strength in high stress areas.  Woven fabric has more longitudinal and transverse strength then chopped fabric.  Boats such as Ranger use chopper gun construction because it is faster and requires less man hours per boat.

100% composite construction

Stratos® Boats, designed by fishermen for fishermen, are built with 100% composite construction to provide maximum performance and comfort.

Stratos does not use plywood to build the interior structure frame work, but rather builds the frame of fiberglass.  It is lighter weight yet considerably stronger.  Older model boats are known to be susceptible to water absorption into the plywood increasing the weight and causing rot. No plywood so it does not need to “feel like one solid piece” because it is one solid piece.

CCP Armorcote Gelcoat

Every Stratos® Boat is produced with a high quality CCP Armorcote gel-coat finish - made to withstand the elements.

CCP Armorcote MC exceeds the new strict emissions standard required by the EPA for boat manufacturers.  The outer color and finish on every fiberglass boat is gelcoat.  This is a special resin to achieve the desired color and sparkle made famous by bass boats.  Gelcoat is rated for its ability to resist the penetration of water.  Water absorption causes the finish of the boat to appear cloudy and dull that no amount of waxing or rubbing can eliminate it.  Stratos uses a special gelcoat material that was created to resist the penetration of water.   In addition, Stratos uses a “polyflake” sparkle instead of a “metalflake”.  Metalflake expansion in the sun causes tiny cracks in the finish that allows water to penetrate the gelcoat.  Stratos also uses a special backing gelcoat on the inside to increase the reflection and sparkle of “polyflake” finishes.

Alan Stinson designed hulls

Alan Stinson, professional bass boat designer, has designed the new Stratos XL® series. The XL series radial vee hull combines top-end speed with superb handling

Stratos boats are recognized as a true performance bass boat.  The Stinson designed hulls are just plain faster, smoother riding, drier riding, and better handling at higher speeds.  No other major boat manufacturer’s product will outperform the Stratos boat handling and ride in rough water.  The best performing bass boat you can buy for the money.

Motor selection

Full range of motor brands available.

You don’t have to limit your choice to just one brand of outboard motor; Stratos offers outboard engines from all the major manufacturers.

The Performance Bass Boat Company

This is a young, vibrant, exciting boat company.

Stratos is run by a group of fun loving fisherman that enjoy the speed, power and excitement that a bass boat can provide.  Do you want a boat made by a bunch of old codgers that like to sit around and talk about the old days, go slow in rough water and sit inside when the wind comes up?  Or are you interested in a boat made by younger group of guys and gals that enjoy the thrill of powering across the water in a new bass boat?
