Model year selector for Minn Kota Trolling Motors and
Deckhands.
The motor designation
is the first letters of the serial number located on the serial number
sticker. They usually start with MK
or WW. This sticker is always visible without disassembling the motor and
is usually located on the underside of the motor top head. On the Terrova models it is visible
inside the support tracks of the motor rest.

Example:
Serial numbers starting in “MKJE” actually reads MK94, or “WWAF” will be a 2005
motor.
Motors without a four letter code are pre-1994 and
parts are limited at best.
Beginning in late 2008: The
serial numbers will contain 11 characters beginning with a letter represent
the calendar year flowed by a 3-digit day (001-365) followed by the 2-
character product line code (MK,DH,CP,TT), Then the individual serial
number.
